"OMG! My boyfriend and I have been together for THREE WEEKS. We are getting married once we finish middle school!"

And yes, I'll admit there ARE people who dated in middle school that later got married and really DO love each other. (My aunt and uncle were the first people they dated in Junior High and they've been married for almost 25 years)

But holy frak, there are WAY too many little teenyboppers running around thinking that they're going to find their (sparkly) soul mate and stay together FOREVER AND EVER. And when their boyfriend breaks up with them for being clingy they sob and contemplate suicide because he was JUST THAT IMPORTANT.

What they are feeling is called infatuation not "love".

I'm 14 and I've been with my boyfriend for almost a year now and I can quite frankly say that I'm in love with him. It just has to do with how mature the person is, if they go around saying "yoloswag", then no, they are quite possibly not in love, since their mind cannot comprehend simple sentences, let alone something as divine and rare as true love.

Yup, everyone I know is in relationships (I'm 14), and I'm just sitting here like... awkward!

I quite disagree. I x3 I think young love is more common than you think. Unfortunately it is overrun by the 'sparkly forever love' seekers.

What I think is that there's a big difference between love and infatuation, and the younger we are, the harder it is for us to tell the difference.

Met him at age 16, together at age 17, still together at age 19 and counting. I believe.

Thank. You. I hate people in my grade who date, I think we are WAY to young to be in relationships!
I am 14 going into my freshman year tomorrow with my class of 14 and 15-year-olds, and almost everyone dates. Wow. It's obnoxious. I am not in a relationship and I don't need or want one, not until I'm at least a senior or going into college.

When I was younger (around 5 or 6 years I think) I had a ''boyfriend'' but we just lasted a week and ''broke up'', I can't believe I was that inmature.

Currently, I'm 14 and while yes I've love to have a boyfriend someday, I'd rather wait for someone I really like/love than date the first person I see. However, I think it's possible for teenagers to have a a succesful and healthy relationship, for example, one of my friends is 16 and she and her boyfriend have been together for 2 years.

i disagree, yes they can be in love. but weather it will last is depending on if she is a complete beotch that leaves you because you just talked to other girls DX (i am raging)

i've seen people just shrug through boy friends in my school (13). One has even been through 7 boyfriends in 2 years. o-o crazy. All i wanna do is have some awesome mates and some good friends from either gender.
